401 VCO

Voltage‑Controlled Oscillator

CA$500.00

The 401 VCO is a precision analog oscillator built on a temperature‑stable exponential converter and a high‑headroom saw/triangle core. It delivers the six most commonly needed waveforms simultaneously, with clean tracking, expressive FM, and rock‑solid sync behavior.

It’s the foundation of a complete modular ecosystem, and this is the main reason we wanted to develop and launch it first.

The module can be purchased standalone (using your existing eurorack power), or bundled with the 001 PWR Module.

Waveforms (6 Outputs)

  • Saw — harmonically rich, classic analog tone

  • Triangle — smooth, stable, ideal for FM

  • Sine — pure, low‑distortion, waveshaped from triangle

  • Square — tight, punchy, perfect for sync and bass

  • Pulse (PWM) — voltage‑controlled width for evolving timbres

  • Sub‑Oscillator — divide‑by‑2 square for weight and depth

  • All waveforms are buffered, modular‑level, and available simultaneously.

Voltage Control

  • 1V/oct input with precision expo converter

  • Linear FM input for metallic or deep modulation

  • Exponential FM input for musical vibrato and expressive sweeps

  • PWM CV input for animated pulse tones

  • Sync input with soft/hard modes

Front‑Panel Controls

  • Coarse Tune — wide‑range pitch setting

  • Fine Tune — micro‑adjustments for perfect tuning

  • FM Amount — scales FM input

  • PWM Amount — controls pulse width manually

  • Sync Mode Switch — off / soft / hard

Core Architecture

  • Temperature‑compensated expo converter (matched pair)

  • Saw/triangle core integrator with precision reset

  • Comparator‑based square generation

  • Triangle‑to‑sine waveshaper

  • Pulse width comparator with CV offset

  • Sub‑oscillator
